iOS submission test flight query

I uploaded a build of my app to TestFlight and enabled external testing. It generated a public link, but it says I need to submit the app for review for the link to actually work. I have already submitted it for review, and its status is currently showing “Waiting for Review.”
My question is: is there any alternative for iOS submission? It’s very troublesome to deal with App Store reviews in the middle of a hackathon. I also need to submit an iOS app for another project in this hackathon, and I don’t want the review delay to reduce the time I have before the deadline.

For me it took around 40 hours for them to approve, hope a little bit of context help you

For me it took a few hours. Glad I read that because I didn't realise I hadn't submitted a build for review, thanks!

You should only need to create the public link and submit a build to the public group to go through the shortened TestFlight review process. You don’t need to submit it to the full production App Store.

Unfortunately there is not another mechanism to submit to the Shipyard.
